Class Code:
9180
Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:
Code 9180 is applied to insureds engaged in the operation of amusement devices at a permanent location provided such operations are not otherwise classified in the manual. The classification includes ticket sellers and collectors and applies to the operation and maintenance of merry-go-rounds, roller coasters and similar rides in that category. Bath houses, billiard halls, boat liveries, bowling lanes, dance halls, restaurants, retail stores, theaters, etc., are separately classified. Code 9180 has been applied, by analogy, to the operation of miniature trains or scenic railroads at amusement parks or zoos; alligator or snake exhibitions; pony rides; dolphin training, feeding and care; and zoos. The term “zoos” used in this context refers to incidental animal exhibits that are part of an amusement park, not traditional zoos where the main attractions are animal exhibits.
