Code 8500 is applied to dealers engaged in collecting or handling non-ferrous scrap metal for resale to others. As evidenced by this classification's footnote, Code 8500 does not contemplate a risk engaged in collecting or handling scrap iron or steel. Refer to Code 8265 for dealers engaged in collection or handling of ferrous scrap metal. Ferrous metal includes scrap iron or steel or any metal alloy that is primarily composed of iron or steel whether it is carbon steel or an alloy of steel including stainless steel.
