Code 7540 is applied to insureds engaged in the operation of electric light or power cooperatives financed by the rural electrification administration. This classification contemplates all employees of such cooperatives including store employees, meter readers and drivers. Some cooperatives may purchase their power from other utility companies or they may maintain their own power plants wherein their employees operate instrument and control panels for operation of turbo-generators, water pumps, etc.; maintain and repair the cooperatives' equipment; and maintain and repair outside lines.
