This classification applies to the installation, service, and repair of forced air heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration systems, and any combination of one or all of these forced air systems. In terms of an HVAC system, “refrigeration” means the refrigerant in an air-conditioning system. The installation, service, and repair of commercial refrigeration units such as grocery store coolers and walk-in coolers, which are not connected to an HVAC system, are classified in accordance with the Refrigeration entry in NCCI’s Basic Manual.
