Code 4038 is applied to insureds engaged in the manufacture of plaster statuary or ornaments. Mold making, casting and decorative finishing operations are contemplated within the scope of this classification. Plaster of paris, lightweight aggregates, paints and other decorative finishes are received from others. The plaster is mixed with the aggregates and water. The mix is poured into the prepared molds and held until set. The products are then removed from the molds and placed in a holding area until cured. Various decorative finishes are then applied. Code 4038 also is applied to insureds engaged in the manufacture of dress forms made from papier-mache or plaster. The operations involve a high degree of hand finishing operations analogous to those involved in the finishing of plaster statuary or ornaments.
