Class Code:
3300
Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:
Code 3300 is assigned to insureds engaged in the manufacture of metal bed springs or wire mattresses. Steel or iron wire, iron or steel angle, channel, bar, strip and tubing stock, rivets, nuts and bolts, paint and lacquer are received from others. The operations involve the fabricating of the wire into spiral coils, curled mesh and diversely twisted links on power machines specifically fitted with such dies. The coils are then tempered and the stock is machined to form the frame. The springs are then fastened to the frames with hand pliers and riveted by hand or machine. This classification is also applied to insureds engaged in the manufacture of automobile cushions or seats, folding couches or daybeds, gliders or similar products composed of metal springs attached to metal frames. The finished products are dipped in paint tubs or sprayed with lacquer by compressed air sprays and then baked.
