Code 3126 is applied to insureds engaged in the manufacture of tools used in the agricultural, construction, logging, mining and oil or artesian well industries. A great number of tools fall within this classification, including chisel plow sweeps, plowshares, steel shoes and points for planting, harrows, picks, shovels, sledgehammers, pike poles (a steel point attached to a very long handle to push logs on the river drives), cant hooks (a tool consisting of a stout wooden lever shaft with a pointed head and a pivoted iron hook near the pointed end; used for grasping and turning over logs), etc. Bar stock, flat, round and strip steel and lumber are received from others. This classification is not restricted to forged products but most are of a forged nature. The preliminary work involves the use of drop hammers, stamping presses, plate punches and woodworking machinery. Incidental handle manufacturing is contemplated within Code 3126. The finishing operations involve lathes, drill presses, shapers, grinders, belt sanders and possibly shot blasting cleaning machinery.
