Code 2710 is assigned to insureds engaged in sawing logs into desired lengths to produce rough lumber by use of circular carriage or band saws. It applies to all sawmills, whether portable or stationary. It is assigned to employees operating chip harvesting machinery in a logging area if such employees are not also engaged in logging or lumbering operations. Chip harvesters and other similar machinery have been considered analogous to portable sawmills.
