Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:
Code 1430 is applied to insureds who operate lead mills and smelters. Ore is received, crushed, washed and screened. There may be various steps of milling, concentration or amalgamation, preparatory to the sintering of the ore. The ore is sintered by passing through ignited burners which semi-crystalize the ore as they burn away sulphur and conglomerate gases. The crystals are then conveyed to blast furnaces for smelting.
