Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:
Code 1165 is applied to all employees engaged in surface mining of all types of ore including certain minerals, e.g., phosphate rock, graphite, mica, talc, chalk, asphalt, asbestos, gypsum, etc. If necessary, the overburden is stripped off by use of draglines, power shovels or self-propelled earthmoving equipment. The materials are then loaded onto dump trucks or belt conveyors for movement to railroad sidings and loading into ore cars for shipment to processing plants. The equipment generally involves the use of air compressors, mobile pneumatic drilling rigs, trucks, bulldozers, draglines, shovels, scrapers, pans and conveyors.
