Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:
"Code 4470 is applied to insureds engaged in the manufacture of insulated electrical cable or wire insulating or covering. Drawn wire along with insulating material is received from outside sources. Enamel or lacquer, rubber, plastic, paper, cambric and cotton thread comprise the types of insulating materials commonly used. This classification applies also to the placing of various kinds of protective covering on insulated wire. Generally, these protective coverings are cotton braid, metallic armor (woven or spiral) and lead sheathing. Code 4470, in addition, includes such incidental operations as tinning bare wire, stranding bare wire, spooling and the twisting of insulated wires into pairs. Some of the equipment utilized may be stranders, extrusion presses, gas or electric ovens, automatic braiding machines and power winding machines."
