Class Code: 2361

HOSIERY MFG.

Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:

"Code 2361 is applied to insureds engaged in the manufacture of hosiery. Skeins of cotton, silk, wool or synthetic yarn or thread, generally dyed, are received from outside sources. The yarn is unwound onto bobbins or cones and quills. These are placed in small circular automatic knitting machines which form the leg and heel. The knitting is performed to pattern with sewing machines and loopers which put on the toes and tops. The product is then washed, dried, shaped and inspected prior to being packed in boxes. This classification is also applied to specialist contractors who receive greige (undyed, unbleached) hosiery and engage only in dyeing, cutting, sewing and finishing operations."
